Proverbs 9
Have you caught a repeating words in Proverbs? the last few chapters have metioned "simple" when talking about wisdom. twice in chapter 9 we read, "Let all who are simple" come in here. I did a little work for ya and I understand simple to be naive. A naive person is led astray easily - or maybe even willingly. So it made me think that if I don't want to be a fool I must put aside my naivity about sin and my selfishness and be on guard to protect wisdom in my life. It's a proactive thing - it's an agressive thing - we must be on the offense to protect wisdom in our life and on the defense to avoid foolishness and sin. Are you simple when it comes to sin (ie: its too easy for you to justify sinning like it's not a big deal?)

I don't think I'm simple when it comes to sin. I think sometimes, though, we sin because we think we won't get caught or something. But then we have guilty consciences about it. Or at least I do.
I think that in proverbs 9 god is inviting us and telling us to seek his wisdom. It also says how wisdom will reward you.
I'd be a hypocrite to say that im not simple when it comes to sin. I'm not saying that im extremely simple but that I am. No matter HOW simple I am, what matters is that I AM simple sometimes when it comes to sin. When you think or know you wont get caught, the level of want rises. Your defense (consciousness--yes i honestly spelled that word right the first time somehow;i checked on google lol) starts to go down. You start to think the "lets see how close I can get to sinning without actually sinning" card. Then, BOOOOM! You ACTUALLY step over the line into sin. Where Proverbs 9's teaching comes into play here and what I think your trying to say Nick, is that we need to be agressive and fight back the I-want-to-see-how-close-I-can-get-to-sinning-without-actually-sinning line. We have to be strong and protect the kowledge of God's protection in our hearts so we can destroy sin when it throws its ugly face at us.
so i read norris's and i think yes i am simple but not all the way simple when it comes to sin.
lately i haven't been as "simple" to sin. i have been thinking a lot more about what i am doing, and the whole life is one big mission trip has really sunkin? into my head. i am but on this earth for a reason, and that is to love god and to share his love to other people. how can i do this if i am falling into sin where ever i go. people aren't going to want to learn about god if they see bad things coming from one of his followers.
