4:13 "Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life."
4:20-21"My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;"
These verses really stood out to me. Do we really hold on to instruction and guard it? How are we doing at keeping God's words in our heart? Are you memorizing Scripture?

I think Proverbs 4 talks about how wisdom guides and protects you from evil wickedness and about staying on the path of wisdom and faith and how it will keep you from straying onto the path of evil. I try to think abut God's teachings in every aspect of my life, but im not going to lie, sometimes I stumble and do the wrog thing. And I do try to memorize Scripture although nowhere near as much as I'd like to.
Hey this is Zook. I think that in Proverbs 4:14-17 it is telling us that we shouldnt want evil things and ways of the world. Also we shouldnt follow or always be with the kids who constantly encourage us to do those things. When it says "For they cannot sleep till they do evil" i think it means that they are never satisfied in life, and even after they do their evil things that they think will make them happy they feel like something is missing.
I think, sometimes we don't hold on to instruction and guard it. I think we at first do but then when we find something else that we'd rather listen to then we go with that and listen to that which isn't good. We should memorize scripture and always turn towards it whenever we need help.
proverbs four is telling us to hold on to widsom and understanding. that with them, you are set for life. and to keep out of the wrong stuff or the "not wise" thing.
i love how in the message they are roads and ways and stuff. its pretty neat. it sounds like i am reading directions. and in a way i am, directions to life.
