Proverbs 15
15:14 "An intelligent person is always eager to take in more truth; fools feed on fast-food fads and fancies." This verse hits the nail right on the head! There are so many people in which I have looked up to in their walk with God but it is this verse that is evidenced in their lives. The people that i have looked up to most model their lives on a never-ending pursuit of truth. Is that a descriptor of our lives? Are we always eager to take in more truth or do we sometimes settle for the fast food fads?

Wait I cant find that verse! That's OK I still get the point. For me, I am ALWAYS eager to take in truth from the wise around me. Its not always easy to accept truth and fully understand it at first. There are still times where I find myself settling with the "fast food fads." But that verse says it in the very first part, "an intelligent person is always eager to take in more truth" Its like us and money. I mean, just take out the word 'truth' and put in 'money'. Now if that were only the same as truth, then the world would be so much different and we wouldn't be as lost. I want to have that same passion for God's truth. I don't want to take the easy way out, because that way leads to foolishness.
Hey man i just wanted to drop a line and say thank you! It has been really encouraging to see your diligence throughout the reading of proverbs! Not only are you doing it, but i can tell that you are earnestly searching the Scriptures which is awesome to see! So keep it up man!!!
And by the way that verse is in the Message translation
